Health films win Italian award
PA Wellington A series of four Health Department educational films has won an award at. an international film festival in Italy, according to the department. The films, made for the department’s health education and information unit, were screened by Television New Zealand. The series competed with more than 200 films from 20 countries in the First Medical and Scientific Film Festival organised by the Italian Health Service, the University of Parma, and the World health Organisation. Winner of a “Feltex” television award in 1980, the series received a certificate of excellence from the judges in Italy. Produced by Carlton Carruthers du Chateau and lan Mune Productions, the series, using puppets and gangsters, takes a humorous
look at the stepping stones in the lives of young children. Parents are made aware of what to expect in their children’s development and what steps they need to take to meet health and safety needs.
