Q Are there any special servicing requirements for the LPG equipment? A The equipment is not complex and gives many trouble-free kilometres of service. However, it should be routinely checked every 10,000 kms by an authorised service agent, preferably by the agent who carried out the conversion or a service agent of the equipment fitted. Q What is the expected life of the equipment? A The conversion equipment is very robust, and with regular servicing the engine equipment should have a service life exceeding 15 years. The fuel cylinder is tested every 5 years and has an expected service life of about 30 years. Q Can LPG equipment be changed over to another car? A Yes. Most major parts of the LPG system are re-useable and have a long service life. This means that for a modest outlay this bolt-on equipment can easily be changed to another vehicle providing it is compatible. This gives an added cost saving factor as this equipment is generally paid for by the time the change over time arrives. LPG is also lead free. © increases engine life Use of LPG results in far less engine wear reducing vehicle maintenance and down-time. @ keeps the engine oil cleaner Because LPG is cleaner burning and a dry gas the engine oil stays cleaner and is less diluted between oil changes. ® increases spark plug life Because LPG is lead free, it does not contaminate spark-plugs with lead oxide build up and will reduce carbon build up on the electrodes as well. Note. Spark plugs still require the normal 10,000 km servicing. © efficiency is not affected by cold running LPG is a gas when it enters the engine and is fully vaporised. This means it does not require the heat of the warmed-up engine to operate efficiently. For this reason cold running “flat spots' are effectively eliminated. Full power is available from start-up. o
