Basketball tourists lose
The touring Aboriginal women’s basketball team was beaten, 73-69, by an invitation Continental Caterers-Rangiora side at Cowles Stadium last evening. The Australians led, 34-28, at halftime. Scorers for Rangiora included S. Blackadder 23, M.
Costain 14, Y. Kerr, and T. Costain both 12. Highest scorers for the Australians were L. Tarner 18, and R. Haora 13. The tourists will play the Canterbury league team, runners-up in last season’s New Zealand championship, this evening.
