Fatal factory fall
PA Gisborne A man was killed at Wattle Canneries factory yesterday when he fell into a pet food mixing machine. He was Tehokowhatu Riwai Smith, aged 39, married, of Makarori Beach, near Gisborne. It is thought Mr Smith
was working the machine alone when he apparently fell into the hopper, about 1.30 p.m. Sergeant D. P. Pennefather said a workmate noticed the machine had stopped. He checked it and found the body.
