The jockey, Bob Skelton, will be out of racing for the next month after being thrown before the running of the Maiden Handicap at Victoria’s Mornington races yesterday.

Skelton was taking Prime Award to the barrier when the incident happened.

Skelton, aged 52, was treated for a dislocated collarbone at Frankston Hospital and discharged.

Prime Award was scratched from the race.
