Apartheid

Sir,—P. A. Rooney (January 23) asks where other critics of HART stand on the question of apartheid. I am vehemently opposed to the selfappointed guardians of moral beliefs, and can answer plainly. Although the idea of apartheid worries me, it troubles me less than does the wholesale slaughter, rape and pillage followed by broken economies which has followed majority rule being granted in other African state. I oppose apartheid, but I have not yet seen the narrowminded HART offer a remedy. If blacks were given the vote, there is no doubt that bloodshed would follow; black against white, and worse, black against black. — Yours, etc., LINDSAY SMITH. January 23, 1984.
