Museum chairman
The Canterbury Museum Trust Board has a new chairman. Mr Rupert Pearce. Mr Pearce succeeds Sir Hamish Hay, who did not seek re-election as chairman. A member of the board since 1980. Mr Pearce retired as managing director of Aulsebrooks and A. B. Consolidated in 1976.
He was elected to the Paparua County Council in 1977. is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and the Society of Accountants, and served on the council of the Canterbury Manufacturers' Association for 28 years. Mr Pearce was elected unopposed.
