Crash injures 8
PA Wellington A Mini carrying three women and four children knocked two young pedestrians flying when it careered off the road and plunged two metres into the sea at Balaena Bay, near Wellington, last evening. A pedestrian, Megan Jeffries, aged 12,'was the most
seriously injured of the eight accident victims. She suffered compound leg fractures. A Ministry of Transport traffic officer, Mr Brett Mann, said it seemed the car driver had had a dizzy spell as she rounded a corner and did not straighten the steering wheel.
