Live TV coverage
Track and field stars from throughout the world will converge on Porritt Stadium in Hamilton today for the “TVNZ/Pan Am International Track Series,” live coverage of which will begin on One at 6 p.m. today. With athletes of the calibre of the Olympic champion, Alan Wells, as, well as Steve Cram, John Walker, Sydney Maree and Chandra Cheeseborough on the track, plus Mike O’Rourke and the world re-cord-holder, Tom Petranoff, in the javelin, competition is bound to be fierce. On Saturday, January 28, the athletes will move to Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland where, with the Olympics only six months away, they will be aiming for good times to qualify for Los Angeles.
