Malaria warning
A Health Department warning about malaria has been repeated in Christchurch after the reporting of the second case in a month.
The acting Medical Officer of Health in the city, Dr M. A. Brieseman, said New Zealanders travelling overseas needed to take the
right types of anti-malaria tablets and continue taking them even after they had left malaria-risk areas.
A second person returned from overseas was last week reported to have malaria. The first case was a child, aged nine, who had spent some time in Africa.
