Food price index up
PA Wellington The food price index of the consumers’ price index for November was 0.2 per cent higher than for October, said the Government Statistician, yesterday.
The annual increase from November, 1982, is 4.1 per cent compared with an increase of 3.8 per cent from October, 1982, to October this year. On a base of December, 1980, qua'rter of 1000, the index rose from 1304 in October this year to 1307 in November. The contribution of each of the three sub-groups to the increase of three index points in the food price index for November was: fruit and vegetables, down 0.4 points; meat, fish, and poultry, up 2.1; other foods, up 1.0 point.
