Bowls rained off
Rain prevented any play yesterday in the women’s bowls zone elimination tournament at Papanui. Play was abandoned for the day at lunch-time when the greens were under water. A decision will be made at 8 a.m. today as to whether the final two rounds will be played. The Fendalton women’s and St Martins women’s greens have . been booked and if play is possible on them, the pairs and singles will be played at Fendalton and the fours at St Martins.
If the greens are too wet, then Christchurch A, which was the leader by three points from Nelson after the third round on Thursday, will be declared the winner and will go to the national final probably in Christchurch, in March.
