‘Fernland Lounge
WHERE TRAVELLERS MEET SOUTH ISLANDERS
A remarkable re-creation and revelation of the South Island will open to the public in Christchurch today.
The Fernland Travel Lounge is housed on the second floor of the building between the Qantas premises and the Savoy Theatres in Cathedral Square. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to . Saturday, with other hours subject to arrangement.
Designed for both New Zealanders and overseas tourists, the travel lounge offers a multi-projection, “sense-around sound,” cinema presentation of the South Island; a tourist information service; and a contact service through which New Zealanders and travellers of various nationalities can meet each other.
The lounge also serves as the city branch of Film Services, a Riccarton company.
