Aust, beats Fiji
PA Auckland Australia beat Fiji 4-1 in the Oceania youth soccer tournament at Mount Smart Stadium last evening.
The Australians, who went ahead 4-0 five minutes into the second spell, conceded their first goal of the tourney in the last minute.
In the first half, Stan Thodis scored after lOmin, Paul Trimboli after 23min, and David AraqK. eight minutes later. Thoffls scored again after the
break. In the last minute, the big Fijian striker Keresoni Kotoitamavua broke clear at halfway, pushed the ball past his marker, but was obstructed in the penalty area. From the indirect free kick, Kotoitamavua banged the ball against the crossbar, and from the rebound a team-mate planted it in the net.
Earlier, Taiwan and Tahiti drew Tahiti thus gained ifi first pothts of the tournament’
