Sampson steps down
PA Ashburton The successful selector and coach, Mr Brian Sampson, will not be guiding the fortunes of the Mid-Canter-bury representative rugby team next season. After seven years as coach, five in partnership with Mr Neville Goodwin and the last two a| sole selector, Mr Sampswi has
decided not to seek reelection to the post. Mr Sampson, after more than 100 games as coach, has gone out on a winning note as Mid-Canterbury is the reigning New Zealand second division champion. “After seven years as Mid-Canterbury coach, I thought it was an ideal time to. let someone else have a go,” Mr Sampson said.
