Insulate and save money
Money can easily be saved by common sense and insulation. It has been proved that insulation in the ceiling enables the householder to save up to 40 per cent, while reducing heat requirements and maintaining the same comfort level in the heated areas of the house. Insulation in the walls improves this further. It is an economical way of beating power cuts, and saving not only the householder’s budget but the nation’s as well. With efficient insulation,
a householder can expect to save up to 40 per cent on the power bill. ~ Insulation in the ceiling also prevents condensation forming on ceilings. Simple ways of saving heat are too frequently neglected. Drawing curtains and closing blinds as night approaches is one method. Draughts under doors can be eliminated by cheap rails which are attached to the bottom of the door. They are available from hardware merchants.
