Concern on children
PA Wellington The effects of economic conditions on children and young people concerns the New Zealand Committee for Children.
It says in its annual report there was evidence that a worsening housing situation in many cities was adversely affecting the health, welfare, and education of children. The committee’s chairman, Mrs Margaret Lythgoe, said low income families, specially those with large numbers of children, were disadvantaged by tax provisions in the 1982 Budget.
