Ten pin bowls success
A group of Christchurch ten-pin bowlers had a fair amount of success in the Otago open Championships at Dunedin last weekend. Duncan Scott, with 604 pins, won the open men’s singles from his brother, Adrian. Duncan Scott also won the handicap section, finished first over all, and combined with Julie King to win the mixed doubles. The women’s open singles was won by Dorothy Morton
from another Christchurch bowler, Norma Morris. Betty and Christine Ditfort won the open women’s doubles, and Morton was the top woman over all. In the team’s event the Christchurch combination of Richard Morton, Dorothy Morton, Alister Scott, and David Scott finished second behind Dunedin. The awai J for the woman with the best high game went to Christine Ditfort with a score of 198.
