The Eastern Reefer (7348), which will begin loading 3000 tonnes of frozen meat for Russia today, will have to cool her heels under the meat loaders on Monday (Anniversary Day observance in South Canterbury) before resuming loading on Tuesday. She is in the same category as the Salen Reefer Services’ Clementina, which left port last Saturday without incident, and under charter to expedite the Meat Board’s lucrative meat deal with Russia.
