Freeze breach?
PA Auckland The Department of Trade and Industry will investigate a 21 per cent increase in the price of the “New Zealand Business Who’s Who” this year. The decision to investigate the $l5 increase was because a number of subscribers questioned the increase during the price freeze, a department spokesman said.
The annual business catalogue cost $7O last year, but is now $B5. The additional cost of packaging and posting has remained at $4.50. A spokesman for the publisher, Fourth Estate Group, said the price was set in May last year, and the budget for the publication was re-set at the same time every year. Each edition of “The New Zealand Business Who’s Who” was a new product, requiring new type-setting and production.
