Plague scare
British scientists are examining rats to see if a plague present in most American ports, is likely to gain a foothold in Europe. The plague is spread by the Hantoan virus and can cause ’flu-like symptoms, kidney damage and internal bleeding. The plague is believed to be particularly rampant in China and has spread to America.—London.
