Eastern wins reserve final
Eastern Suburbs convincingly beat Hornby, 30-8, in the grand final of the Canterbury rugby league premier reserve grade championship at the Show Grounds on Saturday. It was a most successful afternoon for Eastern. Its senior team won its final, 16-1, over Linwood, and in the senior third (section 2)
final Eastern B won 10-7, also at Linwood’s expense. Halswell won the top senior third section, beating Addington, 23-18. In other finals Linwood edged out Parklands, 13-12, in section 2 of the premier reserve grade, and Marist-Western Suburbs had a 14-12 advantage over Addington in section 2 of the senior division.
