Regiment’s history
Sir,—l am writing a history of 3rd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., during the Second World War. During this period the regiment appears to have served mainly in a training role and was based first at Hororata, then at Wingatui, Dunedin, and finally Burnham. I would be most grateful to make contact with service people who may have served in or with the regiment during this period. I am particularly interested in gaining access to photographs, diaries, or letters relating to 3rd Field’s history in the period of my study. I would also welcome any information or reminiscences of people who served with the unit at this time. — Yours, etc., S. D. NEWMAN, Second Lieutenant, C/o. The Adjutant, 3 Fd, R.N.Z.A., Burnham Military Camp. August 30, 1983.
