Well plugged
Ampol Exploration, Ltd, has advised that testing operations on the company’s offshore well, central Gorgon No. 1, has been completed. The well has been plugged and abandoned, and the rig is now being prepared for towing to Singapore. Resignations Two directors of Huttons N.Z., Ltd, have resigned. The resignations of Messrs M. E. Groome and I. D. Cameron took effect on August 10 and came after the sale of the major part of Hawke’s Bay Farmers Meat Company, Ltd, holding in East Coast Consolidated, Ltd, which has a 29 per cent holding in Huttons N.Z., Ltd. Interest down The Southland Building and Investment Society will lower interest rates on most existing mortgages 2 per cent, borrowers progressively benefiting from October 1.
