Work at mill site to resume

PA Auckland “Normal” work will resume on the $BOO million New Zealand Steel mill expansion site at Glenbrook today. This follows a meeting on the site yesterday by members of the 800-strong workforce. The meeting was called after the New Zealand Steel Development Company, Ltd, on Monday said no work would be offered until “normal” work resumed. This meant more than 40 hours a week if required. Site unions, on strike since Thursday over what they said was lack of progress in negotiating a combined union site committee with the company, decided on Monday to go back to work for only 40 hours a week.
