Meat, fish review under way
Wellington reporter
The review of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries meat and fish inspection has started. Submissions have been sought from organisations and individuals by the review committee whose chairman, Mr H. Hinchcliff, is also chairman of the Fishing Industry Board and formerly general manager of a meat exporter, W. and R. Fletcher, Ltd, in New Zealand. The review committee has been asked by the Government whether the inspection programme is the most effective means of achieving the standards required by importing countries, and to identify any inefficiencies.
