Flood relief given
PA Blenheim Help for flood-sticken families in Marlborough has come from far and wide. The Red Cross will receive a gift of 100 pairs of work boots from a Hobart company, and a collection of woollen garments from Remuera Primary School, Auckland. The managing director of Blundsone Pty, Ltd, Hobart, Mr Harold Cuthbertson, sent
the consignment of boots with a message in which he said he had been impressed by New Zealand's response to a flood disaster in Tasmania some time ago, and also to the bush fire tragedy in South Australia and Victoria. Generous contributions have been made to a relief fund set up by the Mayor of Blenheim, Mr Philip Taylor, and the “Marlborough Express” newspaper.
