Maori FM station
PA Wellington New Zealand’s first Maori private radio station will go on air in Wellington during Maori Language Week, which starts on July 31. The Broadcasting Tribunal has granted an FM
licence to Nga Kaiwhakapumau i te reo — a group organised by the Maori Language Board. It will broadcast entirely in Maori between August 4 and August 8, on a frequency of 89 mHz.
