Car rental firm in receivership
PA Auckland The Auckland-based White Glove Services N.Z., Ltd, has been placed in receivership by General Finance, Ltd. The receiver is Mr G. C. Goodare, of Hutchison Hull and Co. White Glove Services is the parent company of Dominion Budget Rent-A-Car, Ltd, believed to be the third-largest rental car group in New Zealand with about 12 per cent of the market.
Mr Goodare said last evening that he intended the company to trade on, with
the aim that it be sold. He said he had written to all branches and franchise holders to confirm that all obligations in the marketplace would be honoured. “I want it as a going concern,” he said. The 1982-83 edition of the “New Zealand Business Who’s Who” lists the subsidiary companies of White Glove Services (N.Z.), Ltd, as Budget Rent-A-Van, Ltd; Dominion Rent-A-Car, Ltd; Domion Budget Tours, Ltd; South Pacific Rent-A-Car, Ltd; and Vacation Coaches, Ltd.
