Bomb blast at Orly Airport

NZPA-Reuter Paris An explosion near the Turkish Airlines desk at Orly Airport, Paris, yesterday is believed to have killed several people. Eyewitnesses close to the explosion said that it apparently went off in a bag that was waiting to be registered at the desk. The airport was jammed with thousands of holidaymakers who ran for the exits as a thick cloud of black smoke filled the airport lounge. One witness said he saw at least three people lying bleeding profusely on the

pavement outside, where they had been carried by helpers. A Turkish diplomat was shot dead near his home in a fashionable Brussels suburb earlier yesterday in an attack for which two Armenian guerrilla groups claimed responsibility. One of the groups, the previously unknown Armenian Revolutionary Army, said in a telephone call to a Paris news agency that the killing of Mr Dursun Aksoy, aged 38, was its first action and warened that it would strike again.
