Registered firms up
PA Wellington Company registrations were up 418 this May compared with the same'month last year, said the Companies Office. It reported that 119.835 companies were on the register in May, including 607 new companies. At the same time last year, 119,435 were registered, with 655 being added in the month.
In May 365 companies were dissolved, 21 were forced by court order to liquidate, and 22 did so voluntarily. Receivers were appointed to 29 companies while 10 ceased to act. The nominal share capital increased for 152 companies and decreased for one. The number of overseas companies on the register remained at 735.
