1200 birds on show
About 1200 birds will Sireen their feathers for the udges today at the Christchurch Canary and Cage Bird Club’s annual show. A spokesman for the club said that entries of 1259 were more than last year. Foreign finches, parrakeets, budgerigars, and seven
varieties of canaries have come from all parts of New Zealand to compete in the show, which will be held at the Sacred Heart Hall, Spencer Street, Addington. Judging will take place today, and the show will be open to the public this evening, tomorrow, and Sunday.
