Motor-cyclist in intensive care
A Burnham youth, aged 17, is in the intensive care unit at Christchurch Hospital after he suffered serious head, chest, and leg injuries when the motorcycle he was riding and a car collided at Burnham, about 10.30 p.m. on Saturday. He is Gregory Pearson, of Sandy Knolls Road, Burnham.
Also in the intensive care unit is Joan Margaret Gordon, aged 21, of Harvard Avenue, Wigram, who suffered moderately serious head injuries and suspected
internal injuries when the car in which she was travelling rolled, about I.skm west of Bennetts, Cust, about 12.50 p.m. yesterday. Three persons were injured when a car struck a pole outside 672 Ferry Road in Christchurch about 4.20 a.m. on Saturday. Two of the occupants were treated for minor injuries and discharged from Christchurch Hospital. The third, Colleen Green, aged 35, of Kershaw Place, Richmond, suffered moderately serious head injuries and lacerations.
