Getting rid of steam, smoke, fumes, smells
Mistral is claimed to be Australia’s leading name in exhaust (extractor) and cooling fans, and P.D.L. Sales, Ltd, has launched a promotion for the exhaust fans made here.
Besides Mistral’s specially-designed GyroAire cooling fan, six of the Mistral exhaust fan models are made in New Zealand under licence by P.D.L. Industries, Ltd, of Christchurch. • These fans are designed
to fit in windows, walls or ceilings, and offer a neat, convenient solution to lingering cooking smells, cigarette smoke, and excessive moisture indoors. The Mistral MWE7 win-dow-wall exhaust fan is suitable for any room in the house.
It is easy to install, very competitively priced, and the cords for opening and closing the shutters also switch the aopliance on and off.
The bigger version is the AWEIO, with a 250 mm diameter and shutters that close automatically when the fan is switched off. With both of these, ducting kits are available for
wall-fitting application.
There are two sizes of ceiling exhaust fans, also 175 mm and 250 mm. The larger of them is also available with automatic shutters, and is ideal for either domestic or light commercial use.
The ceiling models without automatic shutters include a “fly screen” debris trap. The larger size of ceiling extractor fan is also produced as a 254 mm fan and down-light combination, the FLBS — “a winner in bathrooms, toilets, kitchens and workshops.” It combines powerful, 100W, wide-angle illumination with the benefits of an extractor fan, and light and fan can be switched on or off separately.
All the Mistral exhaust fans are run by quiet, longlasting, four-pole motors, each equipped with a “thermotemp” that automatically cuts power to the unit, should over-heating occur. All these products are manufactured in accordance with New Zealand Standard NZI3OO, and are available from most appliance retailers.
Even at this early stage, the “fan plan” promotion is running hot, as many households take the opportunity to purchase a Mistral ex-
haust fan with a saving of 20 per cent on the installation cost. The purchaser receives a special offer voucher from
the retailer, then rings the nominated branch of P.D.L. Sales, Ltd, which will arrange for an electrical contractor to install the fan.
