Anastasis leaves N.Z. waters
PA Auckland The 11,695-ton Christian ship Anastasis sailed from Auckland on Friday night after five months visiting 14 New Zealand ports. The ship carried cargo worth about $350,000 for hurricane relief in Fiji.
During their New Zealand visit the ship’s crew mounted a project, Operation Good Samaritan, to encourage churches and busi-
nesses to aid Fiji and Tonga. Among the cargo were three fire engines given by the New Zealand Fire Service.
The Anastasis is run by an international Christian mission organisation, Youth With A Mission. The volunteer crew sees the ship’s mission as a bridge to carry supplies from prosperous nations to less affluent places.
