University Vacancies UNIVERSITY OF CANTERBURY SENIOR LECTURER OR LECTURER IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS are invited for the above position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering from honours graduates In engineering who wish to teach and carry out research in fluid mechanics or thermodynamics. It would be an advantage for candidates to have a research interest in either wind engineering or energy and its conservation and to possess some experience in mechanical engineering design. The salary for Senior Lecturers is on a scale from $27,088 to $30,127 (bar), to $34,387 per annum and for Lecturers is on a scale from $21,660 to $15,684 per annum. WRITER’S FELLOWSHIP THE Victoria University of Wellington Writer’s Fellowship for 1984 is open to writers in all areas of literary activity, including drama, fiction and poetry, New Zealand art, biography, history, etc. Applicants should be authors of proven merit normally resident in New Zealand, or New Zealanders currently resident overseas. The Fellow will have the opportunity of writing full-time tn an academic environment. There is no formal teaching requirement. The Victoria University of Wellington Writer’s, Fellowship is funded Jointly on an annual basis by the University and the New Zealand Literary Fund. The appointment will be from February 1, 1984 to January 31, 1985. CLOSING DATE: AUGUST 31, 1983 SALARY: The salary for the Fellowship will be $23,941 per annum.
