COMPUTER SCIENTIST Systems Duties include the design, implementation, and maintenance of various systems programmes (utilities, compilers, and operating systems); together with administrative responsibility for one of the three computer systems. Applicants should have at a minimum a good honours degree and either formal training or extensive experience in operating systems and compilers. A knowledge of PASCAL, PL/1, and assembly languages is essential and it would be an advantage to have used PRIME computer systems. COMPUTER SCIENTIST STUDENT USER SERVICES Duties include organising and providing advisory services for staff who are teaching courses with computing content; organising documentation and proctor services for students; and the appointee will also be involved in general advisory services for staff and post graduate students. Applicants should have at a minimum an honours degree with a broad base in computing including fluency in several languages. Good verbal and written communications skills and the ability to organise and document various aspects of computer use are essential. A knowledge of basic statistical techniques and research would be an advantage.
