‘Hewie’: perfect without trying
The All Black full-back, Allan Hewson, received back-slapping praise from his coach, Mr Bryce Rope, after helping to clinch the rugby series against the Lions on Saturday. “Well done, ‘Hewie,’ you had a 100 per cent record,” Mr Rope said. “You didn’t miss a kick at goal, you
didn’t once miss finding the line, you didn’t miss a high ball, and you didn’t miss a tackle.”
“But I didn’t try to tackle anyone,” Hewson protested.
“I know,” smiled Mr Rope. “But that still means that you didn’t miss a tackle.”
