Aust, market firmer
Australian share prices firmed in a quiet market, leaving the all-ordinaries index up about 4.2 points, at 616.6. Brokers said that the market rose on expectation of Wall Street rising in reaction to the lower United States money supply figures. The all-resources rose 8.5 to 502.3, while the all-indus-trials fell 1.2 to 744.6. Base metal stocks firmed, with CRA 20c up at 546 c, WMC 10c up at 460 c, Bougainville 7c higher at 275 c, and MIM 2c up at 454 c.
