Wimbledon food bad
NZPA London The players are getting stuck into the food at Wimbledon but say the food is bad. Johan Kriek rubbished its quality after his shock threeset loss to the unseeded Robert Van’t Hof. “Wimbledon has the worst food by far of any other Grand Prix tournament,” Kriek said. “They have improved a lot of things, but the food is just terrible — it’s the general discussion of many of the players.”
Kriek could not comment on whether the food affected Chris Evert-Lloyd, who was suffering from a mystery stomach ailment before her loss. “If they had decent hot food, the players would not get sick,” he said. Martina Navratilova revealed that she had not eaten ineat since the United' States Open last year, and she does not eat the food at Wimbledon. She has a Czech friend who travels with her and cooks all her food.
