Decisive win in squash
Robbie Burnett wiped out the memories of last year’s final with a decisive 9-7, 9-3, 9-1 win over his Linwood club team-mate, Craig Hibbert, in the Linwood open squash tournament yesterday. Burnett, the top seed, was too sharp and too fit for his opponent and won in only 31min. The 11 points Hibbert managed was exactly the same number he had
allowed Burnett in the 1982 final. The women’s title went to Susan Wasley (Burnside), a junior, who beat Jenny Oakley (St Andrew’s) 9-6, 3-9, 39, 9-6, 9-6, in a 37-minute final.
