University Vacancies CANBERRA - AUSTRALIA THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW SOUTH WALES RECTOR UNIVERSITY COLLEGE AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE ACADEMY THE University has entered into an agreement with the Commonwealth of Australia to establish a College of the University within the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra. The Academy is scheduled to open in 1986. The essential purpose of the Academy is to educate and train potential officers of the three Services for the Australian Defence Force. Applications for appointment are invited from persons with appropriate qualifications and extensive academic and administrative experience, preferably in a tertiary education institution, for appointment to the position of Rector. The Rector will be the chief executive officer of the College and will be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the management and supervision of its academic, financial and administrative activities. He or she will work in close association with the Commandant of the Academy. It Is envisaged that the Rector designate will take up duty early in 1984 and that the appointment will be held initially for a period of seven years and, subject to mutual agreement, may be renewed.
