Affidavit man found dead
PA Auckland An Auckland man whose affidavit led to the Oakley Hospital inquiry last year has been found dead in his Mount Eden flat.
The body of Michael Gary Broadfoot, aged 26, was found on Tuesday. The police are not looking for anyone in connection with the death. Mr Broadfoot, a former psychiatric assistant at Oakley Hospital, made allegations about the death of a Satient, Michael Percy Zatene, aged 23, in a sworn statement.
The Minister of Health, Mr Malcolm, ordered the Committee of Inquiry into Oakley Hospital after reading Mr Broadfoot’s affidavit.
