Poison symptoms spread
NZPA-Reuter Tel Aviv Israeli authorities, baffled by the apparent poisoning of hundreds of Palestinian schoolgirls on the occupied West Bank, now have 70 adult Palestinians complaining of similar symptoms. The head of the investigating team has rejected an assertion by the Palestine Liberation Organisation that Israel was responsiUA for the phenomenon which
resulted in nearly 350 students being taken to hospital. And yesterday, 70 adult Palestinians from the northern West Bank town of Jenin complained of symptoms similar to those suffered by schoolgirls in the Jenin area — headaches, dizziness and nausea. Twenty-four adults were taken to hospital in Jenin, and 20 others in Israel, said

Two Israeli border policemen stationed outside the Jenin hospital also complained of similar symptoms, and were taken to hospital Meanwhile, Palestinians in Jenin, Nablus, Talkarm, and Qalqiliya threw stones at Israeli vehicles yesterday ’ and called for a general strikato protest against the poisotugs, said the sources.
