American beaten
PA Hamilton The American, Leo Harrison was beaten for the first time at the New Zealand clay target shooting championship at Eureka near Hamilton yesterday.
Harrison, who had already won the previous four events he had entered, including the New Zeland double rise and single barrel championships, was beaten in a shoot off for the New Zealand point score
championship by a Waikato club member, Paul Vincent.
Vincent, Harrison, Gavin Brear (Taumarunui) and Neil Thompson (Tauranga) all shot possibles of 150 points in the 50 target match.
Brear and Thomspson were the first to be eliminated in the shoot off and then Harrison missed the thirtieth target to give Vincent the title.
