Summer soccer
A hat-trick of goals in the second half by the Nomads striker, Tim Pearson, last evening swept his team into the final of the Rangers pre-season soccer tournament against Christchurch Mogal United. Nomads were a goal down to Woolston WMC at half-time on Rangers Park, but Pearson dazzled the defence with his match-winning goals. United, meanwhile, accounted for Cashmere, 2-0. The final will be played on Sunday, with last night’s beaten sides playing off for third. &ores:— Christchurch Mogal United 2 (B. Berry, I. France), Cashmere 0; Nomads 3 (T. Pearson 3), Woolston WMC 1 (P. Bradshaw).
