Fine bowling by Bracewell
NZPA Wangaratta. Victoria The New Zealand bowler. Brendan Bracewell, could well thank the star Australian and world record fast bowler, Dennis Lillee, after taking five wickets against the Victorian Country XI at Wangaratta yesterday. Bracewell conceded 53 runs, and had one maiden in his 13 over spell to put the NewZealand Second XI in a winning position for the final day’s play
today. New Zealand were four for 77 at stumps in their second innings after declaring at two for 293 in their first innings. Victorian Country made 168 in their first innings yester- day. Bracewell, who' was part of the New Zealand team which toured England in 1978, had suffered back trouble and spent a season in Perth. Western Australia, helped by Lillee.
