Yachting lead to de Thier

PA Auckland Brett de Thier. Auckland, and his 14-year-old forward hand, Jer Stephenson, made good use of light airs to take two wins and a second placing to gain the over-all lead in the national Tornado Olympic class yachting championship at Auckland yesterday. In the first race of the day, sailed in a breeze of between five and eight knots, de Thier and Stephenson were at their best, beating Brian Peet, Auckland, into second place. .
