Rata flowering
Sir, — At present the rata forest in the Otira Gorge is flowering brilliantly. It is a truly magnificent sight in the morning sunshine. Bearing in mind that rata mast years (heavy flowering) can be as far apart as seven years I would hate to see interested readers of “The Press” miss this opportunity to witness one of nature’s wonders, just three hours leisurely drive from Christchurch. — Yours, etc., PETER ALLAN.
