Bus service
Sir. — I have read with increasing anger the letters written lately regarding the bus service our city provides. I cannot believe the gross selfishness of some people. To suggest abolishing some people’s only means of transport so that car owners can come to town unhindered by “buses and pedestrians,” is rot. Pedestrians will always be on the street regardless of buses. How does such a person suggest the unemployed look for jobs, old people shop, school children go to school and housewives shop with toddlers. We are not all fortunate enough to possess a- car. Maybe these people should try supporting the buses instead of maligning them. I for one, with a husband unemployed and twoyoungsters, have in the past and will in future continue supporting our excellent bus service. — Yours, etc., ANNE M. GRANT. March 3, 1983.
